Dear Member,
We are almost there. Our Run is built and final inspections will take place today and tomorrow. We will open on schedule on Thursday 18th December at 9.00 am. Luca and his team of Arbeiters have done an excellent job creating the wonderous ice sculpture, dear to our hearts, the Cresta Run. The conditions have been ideal, slightly above freezing during the day and cold enough to harden overnight. We hope the temperature will remain or even drop a bit. The first of our daily emails will be sent out tomorrow, confirming our opening on Thursday.
The Tower Team gathered early last week to get everything else prepared. Trophies to the Sunny Bar, firing up the computers, cameras and sound equipment. The Tower Assistants this year are Ella Jankovich, Henry Barnes and Ed von Fürstenberg. All full of energy and raring to go. To be fair their shovelling skills have yet to receive a serious test. Melissa and Riccardo will there be recording your antics on film and video. Mario and Luigi along with new face Alessio will be on hand to quench your thirst behind the Bar. Our old friend Enzo looks forward to taking your reservations in the Sunny Bar.
Our new Shopkeeper, Joe Townley assisted by Shop Girl Mimi Evans, has a whole range of wonderful and new items in stock. He will also be offering a Bargain Basement sale with some of our current stock. I am sure you will all find a little space for that extra present under the Christmas tree.
A quick reminder regarding parking this season. Please only park in the designated places down Via Ruinatsch as far as the second lamppost. Do not park in the area opposite Junction Hut (Between Junction Hut and the apartment building Via Ruinatsch 5). This is for residents only. If you are uncertain contact a member of the Tower Team.
Wishing you all an excellent Cresta season.
Looking forward to welcoming you to the Run.
Best wishes
Martin Greenland
