Now that Spring is here and vineyards will soon be flowering, I think it fair to reflect that we had a truly great vintage year on the Cresta Run: some amazing races, remarkable achievements and memories for a lifetime.
The Tower Team were all brilliant, as were all our friends and supporters who work with and support our great Club.
We are incredibly fortunate to be Members of the St Moritz Tobogganing Club and, as such, please help the Secretary and the Membership sub-Committee with information, notes and letters about this year’s applicants. Whilst we could not exist without our ribbon of ice, we would not exist without such an eclectic, committed, and entertaining membership.
Martin and his colleagues did an admirable job restricting Beginners to 330, although there were more SL courses overall, which hopefully gave those 244 returning a better experience. The 398 Members, meanwhile, stuck to their long term average of 19 rides each. We were open one less day; hence total rides 11,951. Shuttlecock was more benign than the previous year with a total of only 718 falls. Overall, the feedback from all quarters was that we achieved our aim of making riding more accessible for Members and their guests.
So now, whilst we rebuild our bank balances and mend our bodies, there is plenty of off Season fun to enjoy together. Tilly has set out below our May activities. You will also have pencilled in your diaries 10-12 July in the Engadine, late October in Dubai, and cocktails in November.

Should you have any comments (either in support or against), excluding those you have proposed or seconded, please e-mail (or send this list by post) to reach the Secretary by Friday 17th April 2026.
You are requested to refer to the serial number and applicant name, followed by the date, (your signature if by post) and your name in capital letters. Please write detailed comments about the candidate; a tick or similar will not aid the Selection Sub-Committee. It is important that the reasons as to why the applicant should (or should not) be admitted as a Member are fully explained. If emailing, please send all comments in one email to martin.greenland@cresta-run.com.
Proposers and Seconders are reminded that candidates on the application list from last season (i.e.Rollovers) will need additional and confirming supporting letters. Should additional or relevant information relating to candidates be available, Members should share that with the Secretary.

This year's Cocktail Party will take place at the Caledonian Club. Tickets are £50 for over 30s and £30 for Under 30s.

The Swinley Golf will take place on Thursday 7th May 2026, First tee-off at 8 a.m.
Swinley Forest Golf Club, Coronation Road, Ascot SL5 9LE.
The format will be 2 or 3 balls depending on numbers, starting at 8.00 a.m. followed by lunch and prizegiving. The Clubhouse opens at 7 a.m. Jackets and long trousers are required for lunch.
Cost: £220 (CHF242) which includes lunch (wine must be bought separately)
